Leptin is a kind of adipokine secreted mainly by white adipose tissue. It participates in the regulation of food intake and energy metabolism through Leptin receptor in the hypothalamus. Recent studies found that leptin is also involved in gastric mucosal protection. In this paper, a review focused on protective role of Leptin in gastric mucosal injury in rats research is given below.
