long with the rapid process of urbanization, Traditional villages are showing an amazing trend of decline，the protection to traditional village becomes extremely urgent.For the purpose of protecting and developing traditional villages，this paper use analytic hierarchy process (AHP)，establish Resource conditions, The basic conditions of development and The bearing capacity of development 3 first level indicators and other 20 secondary indicators，build a comprehensive development evaluation system for Xiangxi district。Taking Laosi Town，Xiangxi as an example，through questionnaire survey and evaluation of experts and visitors ，we come to conclusion that its Resource conditions and The bearing capacity of development are good while in poor basic conditions of development，which are suitable for comprehensive development.This study can provide reference for the development of Laosi Town and other traditional villages in Xiangxi district.
