he paper studies on the ant genus Messor Forel systematically in China丆twelve of which has been known. It includes two new species collected from Inner Mongolia desert丆named Messor desertora sp.nov and Messor nondentatus sp.nov. The diagnosis characters丆constitution of known species in China丆geographical distribution丆and key to species of the genus is provided. It also describes the two new species in detail and difference between new species and similar species. The type specimens are deposited in the laboratory of insect specimens丆Agricultural college丆Ningxia university丅 1. Messor desertora sp.nov. Holotype worker 丗TL 8.67丆HL 2.0丆HW 1.80丆CL 0.4丆SL 1.73丆CI 90丆SI 96.11丆PW 1.20丆AL 2.67丆ED 0.46丆MTL 2.0丅 This new species is similar to Messor aciculatus乮Smith乯丆but its occipital margin rounded, Scapes of antennae surpasses occipital margin slightly, masticatory margin of mandible has two blunt preapical teeth, and 11 to 13 thin teeth or denticles are in the inner. A round pore is in the middle of the profile of metathorax. Holotype worker 丗TL 8.02丆HL 1.76丆HW 1.56丆CL 0.46丆SL 1.73丆CI 88.63丆SI 110.90丆PW 0.8丆AL 2.46丆ED 0.47丆MTL 2.0丅 This new species is similar to M.valentinae Arnoldi丆but its occipital margin rounded丆Scapes of antennae surpasses occipital margin slightly丆A round pore is away from the declivity of metathorax, next to the dorsum of metathorax.
