First, the definition and types of mobile microreactors were clarified; The development history and research status of mobile microreactors in foreign countries, including the United States, Russia, Japan, and the United Kingdom, and in China were explained respectively; Then the requirements and characteristics of development on the mobile microreactors in China were expounded; Finally the development approaches and prospects were proposed, mainly including: low fuel concentration, design of unique passive safety systems, research and development of proprietary calculating software, improvement of the safety review system for mobile microreactors, and design-specific experimental verification, etc.
