图像定位是图像自动识别系统的第一步。本文通过分析彩色水表图像指出定位难点(英文字母、数字、汉字和符号等混杂;表盘有边框、污点等;外部光照不均匀,有亮点干扰等);针对其图像自身特点,分别采用基于Canny边缘检测的区域定位、基于色彩信息的区域定位和基于差影法的区域定位等3种方法对图像进行区域定位;并根据定位结果和定位速度对前两种方法提出适当的改进方法,提出以膨胀处理放大图像差异代替边缘点彩色分割以提高定位效率;在对各种定位方法所要求拍摄条件和定位速度分析的基础上,最终选择基于色彩信息的区域定位法对水表读数区域进行定位。

Region location is the first step of instrument digit recognition. This paper presents the difficult of location (Letters, digits, Chinese characters and punctuators go together; some spots exist on the image; the uneven Illumination also amplifies the difficulties) and introduces three approaches for location, which are edge detection, color information and difference image, based on the water meter features; using the method of dilation instead of the color segment of edge points to improve the location efficiency. The result shows that the color information location has a relative easier condition demanding and a higher speed and would be the final choice.
