Optical Nonlinear Characteristic of Cu-MgF2 Nanoparticle Films

Investigation was made on the nonlinear optical characteristic of Cu-MgF2 nanoparticle films with different Cu fraction and varying Cu particle diameter from 10.5 to 23.3 nm. The results show that the surface plasmon resonance peak for Cu nanoparticles shifts towards long-wave side as Cu fraction increases. When Cu fraction and around , maximum absorption coefficient cm-1; third-order nonlinear optical refractive coefficient cm2/W; nonlinear refractive index esu; and figure of merit .
