病毒侵染对番茄根茎组织中miRNAs调控通路的影响

MiRNAs are post-transcriptional regulators that are involved in numerous biological processes in both plants and animals. In plants, roots and stems play essential roles in their anchorage to soil as well as in nutrient and water uptake and transfer. In this study, we quantified the expression alteration of eleven miRNAs and their target mRNAs in tomato roots and stems upon CMV-Fny, CMV-FnyΔ2b (a CMV-Fny 2b-deletion mutant), CMV-Fny-satT1 (CMV-Fny plus an aggressive satellite RNA) and TAV-Bj infections. We found tomato stems were hollow in CMV-Fny-satT1 infected plants. This phenotype was associated with the statistically significant decreasing of tomato lateral root number upon CMV-Fny-satT1 infection. Consistence with these phenotypes altering, tomato miRNA/mRNA levels upon different virus infections showed significant changes. Based on the obtained results, the interference of different virus infections with tomato miRNA pathways were analyzed, and the correlations between miRNA/mRNA pairs expression alteration and tomato symptoms were discussed.
