MID(Mobile Internet Device)是一种集视频电话、3G无线通讯网络、视频编解码以及WIFI无线网络等于一身的多功能手持设备。它是体积介于上网本与手机之间的移动互联网装置，由英特尔公司在2008年的IDF大会上提出。本文围绕MID设备的子系统--视频硬件编解码模块进行设计与实现，从硬件特点、软件架构及实现细节等方面阐述了基于X86体系结构的以Linux操作系统为软件平台的视频子系统的实现方式。
MID (Mobile Internet Device) is a set of video phones, 3G wireless communication networks, video encoding and decoding, as well as WIFI wireless network is equal to a multi-functional handheld device. It is the volume between the Internet and mobile phone between the mobile Internet devices, by Intel Corporation in 2008, the IDF General Assembly. This paper is about design and implementation in the MID devices, the video hardware codec module. It gives the method from hardware features , software architecture and implementation details in x86-based architecture to Linux operating system software platform for video subsystem.
