Performance Analysis of IEEE 802.11 Distributed Coordination Function under Non-Saturation Conditions
IEEE 802.11协议的分布式协调功能(DCF)是最具影响力的无线局域网标准,DCF主要基于载波检测/碰撞退避多址接入协议和时隙制退避算法。本文提出三维Markov链(3M)模型,分析DCF的非饱和性能。非饱和状态是指,各站点在成功发送数据后随机产生新的数据分组。新分组的到达服从泊松分布。仿真结果表明:在不同分组到达率下,系统吞吐量和数据帧的成功发送概率和碰撞概率的理论分析结果基本准确。
IEEE 802.11 distributed coordination function (DCF) is one of the most influential standards of wireless local area network. DCF is based on carrier sense multiple access with collision avoidance scheme and binary slotted exponential backoff. A tri-dimensional Markov chain, 3M model, is presented in this paper to analyze the performance of DCF under non-saturatoin condition. In this case, each station generates a new packet for transmission according to a Poisson process after the completion of each successful transmission. Simulation results show that the analysis results of system throughout and probabilities of successful transmission and collision of data frame are accurate under different packet arrival rates.
