中国留学生群体刻板印象心理结构及其形成机制

Psychological Structure and Formation Mechanisms of Stereotype Towards Chinese International Students

海外中国留学生群体在国际环境中面临复杂且多元的刻板印象。这些刻板印象涵盖了从科学领域的高能力,到英语表达、批判性思维及创新力的低能力;在日常互动中,中国留学生既拥有礼貌谦逊的高温暖形象,却也存在只与中国人社会交往和道德水准低下的低温暖形象。本文梳理并评述了塑造这些刻板印象形成和维持的关键机制包括媒体渲染、直接接触、新种族主义和多元文化经历等等。未来研究应进一步揭示中国留学生群体刻板印象的积极效应、消极效应、动态变迁、应对策略等,采用多视角、多层次、多范式交叉融合的方法更好的描述、解释和应对中国留学生群体在国际环境中所面临的刻板印象心理结构及其理论解释,从理论建构和实践应用两个层面提高中国留学生群体的心理健康和主观幸福感。

hinese students studying abroad face complex and diverse stereotypes in the international environment. These stereotypes range from high ability in science to low ability in English expression, critical thinking and innovation. In daily interactions, Chinese students have both a high warmth image of being polite and modest, and a low warmth image of socializing only with Chinese people and having low moral standards. This article reviews and comments on the key mechanisms that shape the formation and maintenance of these stereotypes, including media rendering, direct contact, new racism and multicultural experience. Future research should further reveal the positive effects, negative effects, dynamic changes, and coping strategies of stereotypes of Chinese students, and adopt a multi-perspective, multi-level, and multi-paradigm cross-integration method to better describe, explain and deal with the psychological structure and theoretical explanations of stereotypes faced by Chinese students in the international environment, so as to improve the mental health and subjective well-being of Chinese students from both theoretical construction and practical application levels.
