本文从描述IM（Instant Messaging）业务的现状开始，分析比较了不同的IM实现形式，指出在网络融合的背景下，基于IMS的SIMPLE IM技术是未来发展的趋势，接着开始重点介绍应用在该技术中的IETF标准协议RFC4975-MSRP(Message Session Relay Protocol)，即“消息会话中继协议”。然后本文研究了MSRP的功能和实现，包括业务功能特征、消息结构及典型会话流程等，之后通过重点研究MSRP协议的特点，阐述了MSRP协议的特性，并通过跟SIP MESSAGE发送消息的方式对比，介绍了如何使用MSRP在IMS系统中传送消息和文件。本文的创新之处在于具体分析了由SIP SDP协商建立两种MSRP会话模式的思想，并且通过设计详细的呼叫流程描述了MSRP协议在具体的IM通信过程中的应用。最后，本文预测了MSRP在IMS网络中应用的前景。
his paper begins from describing the current state of IM service, analyses some different realization form of IM protocol, pointes out that the SIMPLE IM technology based on the IMS is the trend in the future. Then it mainly introduces the IETF protocol-RFC4957 MSRP, namely “Message Session Relay Protocol”. This paper researches the function and realization of MSRP, including the service function character, message structure and typical call flow, and then it focuses on the feature of MSRP. Through comparing with the way of send messages using SIP MESSAGE, it introduces how to deliver messages and files using MSRP on IMS network. The innovation of this paper is that it specifically analyze the idea of setting up two kinds of session mode using MSRP, and what’s more, it describes the detailed call flow in the applications. Finally, this paper predicts the prospect of MSRP application in the IMS network.
