WDM光网络多播性能分析比较

随着因特网流量的爆炸性增长,网络中带宽的需求量也在大幅度增长,WDM技术被提出来以解决这种大带宽的迫切需求。多播是一种一个源到多个目的节点的通信技术,目前,各种带宽需求较高的多播业务的应用也越来越流行并且越来越重要,例如,视频会议、video-on-demand服务、高清晰数字电视、远程教学、网络游戏等应用。WDM技术和多播技术的结合使得网络中支持高带宽需求的多播业务成为可能,因此,如何在WDM光网络中实现对多播业务的支持成了近年来光网络研究的热点之一。本文将先详细介绍WDM网络中的OWS和OBS多播技术,然后对这两种技术下的多播性能进行仿真比较研究,最后得出仿真结果并进行结果分析总结。从仿真结果可看出,OBS技术下的多播在一定条件下网络资源占用率、延时以及丢包率/阻塞率上都优于OWS技术下的多播。

With unprecedented increasing demands on bandwidth due to explosive growth of traffic in the Internet, wavelength-division multiplexing (WDM) is proved to satisfy this increasing bandwidth demands in the Internet. Multicasting is becoming more and more popular and important in the Internet for applications such as video conferencing, video-on-demand services, HDTV, and so on. WDM technology and multicasting technology make the services to support large bandwidth demands be possible. so it is becoming a research hot point in resent years. This paper will mainly introduce the multicast in optical WDM network at first and then simulate the multicast performance with OWS and OBS technologies. At last, simulation result shows OBS network is better than OWS in terms of NEU, delay and loss rate/blocking under some conditions.
