在供需链管理问世的前后,西方的企业管理科学出现过一系列的各种管理思想。其中同制造业企业供需链管理有关的主要是: 1988-1991年的敏捷制造(agile manufacturing),1990年的约束理论(Theory Of Constraint,TOC),1989年的精益生产(Lean Production,LP),1985年哈佛大学M.Porter教授提出的价值链(Value Chain),1985年准时制生产(Just ln Time,J1T),1993年Hammer教授提出的业务流程重组(Business Process Reengineering,BPR),全面质量管理(Total Quality Management,TQM)以及Motorola和通用电器公司(GE)提倡的6西格玛(six sigma)质量追求概念。这些管理思想形成了ERP系统的管理理论基础,而且在不断充实和发展。

Professor Porter's value chain (ValueChain), 1985 年 time production (Just ln Time, J1T), 1993 年 Professor Hammer Business Process Reengineering (Business Process Reengineering, BPR), Total Quality Management (Total Quality Management, TQM) As well as Motorola and General Electric Company (GE) to promote the 6 Sigma (six sigma) to pursue the concept of quality. These management ideas formed the basis of ERP system, management theory, but also enrich and development.
