here is large individual difference in people's face recognition ability. Does this difference correlate with processing of configural and featural information in face? In this paper, we used the old/new task to measure Chinese adults' face recognition ability. By blurring faces and scrambling faces, we separated configural and featural information in face. Thus we investigated the correlation between processing of featural and configural information and face recognition ability. The regression analysis of the results showed that processing of configural and featural information both can predict people's face recognition ability, but configural information predicted better. At the end of this paper, we discussed the role of configural and featural information in holistic processing.
