KNOX基因结构及其调控植物发育研究进展
Research progress on KNOX genes structure and regulation role in plant development
KNOX同源盒蛋白(Knotted1-like homebox,KNOX)是具有同源异型结构域的转录因子,它在植物顶端分生组织中对维持细胞多能性等具有重要作用。在单子叶植物中,KNOX基因不仅在茎顶端分生组织中表达,通过叶片解剖发现,也在叶原基中表达,这表明该家族的基因在叶片的形成过程中也发挥作用;通过对功能缺失突变体研究发现异位表达该基因可以导致叶片和花瓣形状的改变。在植物体内,KNOX蛋白通过调控其靶标基因进而调控激素在分生组织中的体内平衡,同时它和另一个同源异形域BELL亚家族蛋白形成异源二聚体,最终达到调控赤霉素和木质素的生物合成途径,从而决定细胞命运。本文对KNOX基因的结构、表达和调控植物发育等方面进行了综述。
KNOX homeobox protein (Knotted1-like homebox, KNOX) is a homeodomain transcription factor, whose function is to maintain cells pluripotency in plant apical meristem. In monocots, KNOX gene is not only expressed in the shoot apical meristem tissues, but also expressed in leaf primordia through leaf anatomical research. It is suggested that this genes family may also play a role in the formation process of leaves; by researching on the loss of function mutants found that: ectopic expression the gene can change the shape of leaves and petals. In plants, KNOX protein regulates its target genes to regulate hormones in the meristem homeostasis; at the same time it interactions with another homeotic domain BELL subfamily proteins; ultimately to regulate gibberellin and lignin biosynthetic pathway, which is to determine cell fate. In the article, we will review the structure, expression, regulation of plant development and other aspects of KNOX gene.
