低营养条件下外来种火炬树与本地种麻栎幼苗在生物量分配策略上的差异

氮(N)和磷(P)是植物生长所需的必要元素,在植物生活史和群落组成中都有重要的作用。人为的氮输入造成了生态系统的富营养化,也改变了营养元素之间的相互关系,这种改变可能会对外来种与本地种之间的相互关系产生影响。我们通过控制实验研究了本地种麻栎(Quercus acutissima)与外来种火炬树(Rhus typhina)在三种氮磷比条件下的相互关系。通过12周的实验,进行了生物量、植物生理和相关性状的测量研究。结果显示火炬树在竞争中处于优势地位,并且这种优势随氮磷比的升高而增大。这种优势地位主要与火炬树高光合和高营养获取能力相关。火炬树将更多的生物量投入到叶片上,保证了它高的生物量生产和快速的生长。而麻栎在竞争的压力下,将更多的光合产物投入到根系上。这种生物量分配策略上的差异可能是两者在竞争中不同表现的主要原因。
Nitrogen (N) and phosphorus (P) are essential mineral nutrient elements in plant and play vital roles in individual life history and community structure. Anthropogenic nitrogen emission has led to eutrophication in many ecosystems, and changed the relative importance of nutrient elements and raised the availability of N relative to other elements, which may change the relationship between exotic and native plants. We conducted a greenhouse experiment to examine the effects of different nutrient conditions on the relationship between an exotic plant and a native plant. Native species Quercus acutissima and alien species Rhus typhina, were grown in monoculture or mixture, under three N: P ratios. After 12 weeks of treatment, biomass partitioning and leaf traits for nutrient absorption were determined. R. typhina was the dominated species in competition and the dominance increased with increasing N: P ratios. The strong competitive response of R. typhina was associated with high capacity for carbon assimilation and nutrient absorption. R. typhina invested more photosynthate to leaves, enabling its great biomass production and high growth. The trade-off in biomass and nitrogen partitioning between two species is the main reason for their different performance in competition and has crucial influence to plant properties in changing environment.
