he eukaryotic LIM protein family is characterized by one or more conserved LIM domains that has been shown to be critical for the cellular differentiation and development, transcriptional control and the cytoskeleton formation. We identified a gene encoding an LIM protein from a cDNA library of silkworm pupae, whose GenBank Accession Number is DN6907984, and we named it BmLIMO(LIM only protein). The full length of the gene is 627bp, and it encodes 186 amino acids, with their predicted mass 21.6kDa and isoelectric point 9.139. After bioinformatic analyses on BmLIMO, we cloned the fragments of interest into the expression vector pET-28a and transformed into E.coli BL21(DE3) to induce protein expression. This will provide us important evidence to make further studies of BmLIMO.
