n this paper, we summarized ecological construction target of Chongming Island, and scientific problems to be solved, analyzed the regional ecological-economic conditions and limitations. We integrated sustainable development target, analyzed ecological limitations in Chongming island, and brought forward suggestions about ecological construction on Chongming island: studying on actuality and dynamics of ecological carrying capacity in Chongming island, and bringing forward countermeasure about enhancing ecological carrying capacity; setting down new type industry configuration, population scale and optimized arrangement adapting to regional ecological carrying capacity, putting forward sustainable resource-saving developing mode of ‘ecological island’; establishing valid ecological security alarm system on Chongming island.
