he main merits of the Switched Reluctance motor drive were introduced. The applied examples, such as the electric locomotive drive system and the water pump variable speed drive system, were given. The applied prospects in the electrical haulage shearer and the scraper conveyor were also introduced. Those show that the Switched Reluctance motor drive has the wide applied prospects in the production facilities under coal mines. It contributes to open a new way for enhancing the operational reliability of the electric drive equipments and prolonging the service life of the motors under coal mines. All those have the important significance for improving the economic benefit of coal mines, reducing the no safety factors and reducing the accident rate.
