Output Power of 95.8W from Coherent Combining of Two PCF Lasers

Phase locking of two PCF lasers is realized experimentally by using the self-imaging resonator technique. The two PCF lasers run in the in-phase mode and interference strips of high-contrast are observed even in high power operation. The coherent output power of 95.8W and the coherent power combination efficiency of 90.2% are obtained when the pump power is 150W and the reflectivity of coupling output mirror is 5%. Experiment shows that the reflectivity of coupling output mirror affects the coherent output power. The slope efficiencies of two fiber lasers running in in-phase mode are 63.8%, 61.6% and 60.2% for the reflectivity of 5%, 10% and 15%, respectively.
