Functionalization of mesoporous silica materials with organic groups has opened new possibilities for their various applications. Since the content of organic groups is a key factor that determines many important properties of the hybrid materials, synthesis of ordered mesoporous materials with a high content of organic functional groups uniformly distributed over the ordered structure is highly desirable. In this paper, Ordered SBA-15 functionalized with a high loading of pendant amine groups has been synthesized via co-condensation of tetraethoxysilane (TEOS) and 3-aminopropytrimethoxysilane (APTMS) templated by Pluronic P123 under acidic conditions. and the resulting functionalized materials were characterized by XRD, FTIR and 29Si MAS NMR, the result indicated that the material was ordered, and with high loading of amine groups.
