bZIP homology gene was isolated from the flower bud of Pyrus pyrifolia var. Huanghua by homology-based cloneing technique. The full length of the gene was 1843 bp with an open reading frame 1227 bp, while it can encodes 408 amino acids, named PpbZIP(NCBI number: KC951877). Though the analysis of protein, we found the PpbZIP gene had a high homology(92%) to the Malus x domestica. The bZIP gene showed an expression increasing at the initiate stage of endo-dormancy and then dropped until the total release of dormancy. It was speculated that the bZIP gene had a relationship with dormancy of pear flower bud.
