Netfilter Hook是为了保证IP访问安全性在Linxu2.4以后的版本中提供的，作为Netfilter体系结构中的提供的接口，为Linux内核中不同位置上的数据包的截获和操作处理提供了方便。在此框架下通过注册Netfilter Hook函数来实现包过滤，提高IP访问安全。
