In vivo experiments of laser induced interstitial thermotherapy on liver tissue with FBG temperature distribution sensor

在本文中,将光纤布拉格光栅作为一种完全分布式的温度传感器,植入到生物组织内部,测量了在激光诱导间质热疗过程中,在体和离体的肝脏组织的温度分布,通过反演程序,将光栅的反射谱进行重构,从而得到组织沿光栅轴向的温度分布曲线。实验中,研究了温度分布和激光的输出功率之间的关系,并在相同激光功率的条件下,比较了在体组织和离体组织经激光热疗后的结果,实验结果表明两者测得的温度曲线有相同的斜率和趋势,但由于活体实验中,实验样品的体温影响,在体实验中测得的温度分布会高于离体实验测得的温度,其温度的差值为一个常数。

In this paper, we measured the temperature distribution of liver tissue both in vivo and in vitro during Laser Induced Interstitial Thermotherapy (LITT). Fiber Bragg grating (FBG) was embedded in the laser irradiated bio tissues used as fully distributed temperature sensor. The temperature profile was reconstructed from its reflection spectra. The temperature measurement system we built can measure the FBG axial temperature distribution. We studied the dependence of the temperature distribution and laser output power experimentally and compared the results of in vivo and in vitro under similar laser irradiating conditions. Experimental results show that the slope and trend of the measured temperature curves in vivo and in vitro are almost identical. Due to influence of body temperature, the in vivo measured temperature is higher than the in vitro one with an almost constant temperature difference value.
