Numerical Simulation on Extrusion Process of Rectangle Tubes

本文以Al6063矩形管为例,分别利用有限元法和有限体积法对矩形管平面分流模挤压过程进行数值模拟分析,比较了2种模拟方法针对矩形管挤压过程的模拟结果,得出有限体积法可以更有效模拟矩形管挤压过程的结论。同时分析矩形管挤压过程的金属流动规律、应力应变以及温度分布情况,为铝材矩形管分流模的结构设计和参数优化提供了分析依据。

In this paper, the porthole die extrusion process of 6063 aluminum rectangle tube is simulated by both finite element method (FEM) and finite volume method (FVM).Compared the different simulation results obtained by FVM and FEM, it can be conclude that FVM is a more usable method to simulate the extrusion process of rectangle tubes than FEM. The simulated results such as the distribution of velocity, stress, strain and temperature are given respectively through simulating the extrusion process which are helpful for the structure design of porthole die and the optimization of die parameters.
