Mobile app store has become an important part in the mobile internet industry chain. Based on the meaning of mobile app stores, this paper discusses the factors for success of three types of foreign mobile app stores from the angle of industry chain. It is concluded that the app store's success was a result of strong brand influence, great control of industry chain, and good user experience. Also,this paper conducts detailed analysis of policy, social, economic and technological environment for domestic telecom operators, and puts forward some strategies for telecom operators to build mobile app stores.
