Recently, gene chip technology which developed on the background of hybridization theory, has become a useful tool for the analysis of genome-scale gene expression. This technique has a brilliant prospect in the field of biology, genetically modified organisms ,medicine, pharmaceutics , environment protection, agriculture and forestry. This review contains the concept of the gene chip, technology principle, the main technical process, a brief introduction to the existing problems and application prospects.
