he intention of this article is to introduce the indicator, methodology and the overall and the faculty level results of the World High Impact University Ranking in Australia. Specially, we also introduce the ranking results of Chinese university, and then compare these with the results of the Shanghai Jiao Tong University -Academic Ranking of Worldwide Universities (SJTU-ARWU), Times Higher Education Supplement World University Ranking (THES), and The U.S. News & World Report's World's Best Universities rankings. The preliminary conclusions indicate that the methodology is simple and transparent in formulation, and based solely on measurable outputs. The assessment criteria are relevant, objective and timely. The methodology produces scores that are easily understood and physically meaningful, provides separate assessments for the different faculties, and produce a balanced overall assessment by equally accounting for all faculties. In particular, the assessment of universities at the faculty level can provide useful indications into faculty specific research impact, while the overall index appears to provide reasonable indications of all round research impact, at least for the so called comprehensive universities.
