We consider the least squares mixed element for a system describe the darcy velocity and pressure in porous media. The system is written as a first-order system. We construct a least squares mixed element procedure and the optimal error estimate for the unknowns. Then we construct an iteration procedure with least squares finite element, which can be splitted into small-scale systems at each iteration step.
