印度图书情报学教育的发展研究及其启示

印度图书情报学教育的历史源远流长,可分为早期萌芽阶段、接受期、发展期、现代化时期四个阶段,每个阶段所面临的社会情境各有不同,因而其教育形式、课程设置、培养目标皆有所不同。新形势下,印度图书情报学教育也面临消逝危险、就业困难等困境,对此印度政府将图书情报学教育视为适应知识社会的必不可少的通识教育。最后探讨了印度图书情报学教育蓬勃发展的原因以及对我国图书情报学教育的启示。

India has a long history of library and information science education, it can be divided into four phases which are early period, period of acceptance, period of growth, period of modernization. With the growth of India, the library and information science education encountered different challenges and opportunities at each phase, it had to adopt a proactive approach and bring tremendous changes to serve the needs of the changing environment. Under the new situation, the library and information science education also faces the danger that "Library Science" has been dropped from the name of the library school, the students will be in a disadvantageous position for jobs in libraries. Indian government will take it as one general education to adapt to the knowledge society. Finally, this paper discusses why the library and information science education in India can rapidly develop and its enlightenment to us.
