his paper describes the use of MSI chip design traffic signal controllers. The new controller is composed of the clock signal generator, the main controller, set the number of devices, counters, decoder driver circuit and digital display circuit etc., which in addition to achieving the basic function of traffic lights, but also has a countdown display, time setting function. Compared to using a microcontroller or FPGA to achieve traffic light design, new design method is simple and does not require software programming and debugging. Finally through the Proteus software simulation show that the new design method is entirely correct.
