With the development of building undertaking of our country, the question of landslide is being paid more attention to. This paper describes the study of slope stability calculation method used to explain the theoretical basis of these methods and the scope of application. At the same time ，do a summary on the slope stability analysis of research situation and its application . On the rigid body limit equilibrium method and finite element method of the advantages and disadvantages of doing a more detailed introduction, it is benefit to makes the slope stability analysis to further improve and mature, can be better applied in the actual project, nd can be more widely accepted by engineering.
