This paper analyses the deformation mechanics of expansive soil form micro-and macro-structure aspect , and explain the deformation mechanics of expansive soil under cyclic drying and wetting by system stability theory . Finally, an example indicates that the calculated result of the model is similar to that obtained from expansive soil test.
