By the study of the early development and actual situation of the institutional repository as while as the specific situation in our contries universities, the article comes up with the siginificance of constructing the institutional repository and some problems which exist and need to be considered during the process of constructing. Aiming at these problems which include data collection, choice of the constructing platform, it provides some solutions and also introduces several well-known software .
