对外源入侵病原物的识别是免疫反应的第一步。在昆虫和其他节肢动物中,肽聚糖识别蛋白(Peptidoglycan Recognition proteins,PGRPs)可以识别并结合细菌表面的肽聚糖(peptidoglycan,PG),在激活免疫调控途径中有着重要作用。家蚕(Bombyx mori)的PGRPs家族中有12个不同的PGRP基因,然而大部分功能至今还并不清楚。在本实验中,我们在给家蚕注射及喂食革兰氏阴性菌绿脓杆菌(Pseudomonas aeruginosa, P. aeruginosa)或革兰氏阳性菌金黄色葡萄球菌(Staphylococcus aureus, S. aureus)后不同时间点,运用半定量RT-PCR检测, 发现在脂肪体和中肠中的PGRP-S5转录水平明显上调,说明PGRP-S5对家蚕的先天性免疫(innate immunity)具有一定的调控作用。

iscrimination of the invading microbes as non-self is the first step in immune system. In insects and other arthropods, peptidoglycan recognition proteins (PGRPs) detect peptidoglycan (PG) of bacterial cell wall, leading to the activation of defense responses. There are 12 kinds of PGRPs belongs to PGRP family in silkworm, Bombyx mori. However, functions of most of these PGRPs are not clear. In this study, we found PGRP-S5 transcription was up-regulated in the fat body and the midgut by Pseudomonas aeruginosa or Staphylococcus aureus infection at different time point by semi-quantitative RT-PCR. These results indicate that PGRP-S5 may be involved in the regulation of the innate immunity.
