Flower-like carbon nitride prepared by Chemical Vapor Deposition

Flower-like carbon nitride with the diameters from 20 to 60 μm was synthesized by the high energy ball-milling and twice thermal-annealing processes in a horizontal tube furnace. The analyzed results indicate that the as-prepared compound belongs to hexagonal crystal carbon nitride, and the reaction temperature plays an important role in the formation process of the special structure. This is the first time that the flower-like carbon nitride was synthesized in atmospheric environment. The formation mechanism of the nanostructure is proposed. The Photoluminescence spectra show that the product presents optical property in blue-violet light band.
