n Improved Infrared and Visible Images Registration Based on SURF Algorithm

图像配准是图像处理的基础。针对Harris角度不具有尺度不变性和SIFT算法依赖于硬件的问题,提出了SURF(Speeded Up Robust Features)算法做配准。先用SURF算法提取特征点,然后用Haar小波响应和计算特征描述子,再采用欧氏距离找到匹配点对。为了提高匹配效率,只将具有相同符号的特征点进行匹配。实验结果表面该方法是可行的。

Image registration is the basis of image processing. As the Harris algorithm is depend on scale and the SIFT(Scale Invariant Feature Transform) Algorithm is depend on the hardware, an image registration based on SURF(Speeded Up Robust Features) algorithm is proposed. First, the correspondences are found by SURF algorithm. Second the descriptor is made by computing the sum of Haar wavelet responses. Then matching points are using Euclidean distance. To improve the matching speed, the features which have the same type of contrast are only compared. The effectiveness of the method is also verified by the experiment.
