Extraction of Weld Pool Width Feature Based on Visual Sensing during High-power Fiber Laser Welding

在大功率光纤激光焊接中,熔池热辐射含有丰富的焊接质量信息,其中熔池宽度可以作为衡量焊接过程稳定性的参数。研究一种基于红外热像的大功率光纤激光焊熔宽特征提取方法,以10kW大功率光纤连续激光焊接304不锈钢为试验对象,应用近红外传感高速摄像机摄取熔池动态热像,应用中值滤波、灰度拉伸、裁剪、动态阈值、数学形态学等图像算法提取熔池热像边缘和分析检测熔宽。试验结果表明,通过熔宽特征参数能准确地反映大功率光纤激光焊接过程的稳定性,从而为实现焊缝自动跟踪打下基础。

In a high-power fiber laser welding process, the thermal radiation of a weld pool contains plenty of information for welding quality, in which the pool width can reflect the welding stability. Thus, extracting the welding pool width of high-power fiber laser welding based on infrared thermal imaging is an important method for monitoring the weld quality. This paper has analyzed the automatic seam tracking system related to image processing, we studied the 304 stainless steel welded by a 10kW high-power fiber laser continuously. A near-infrared high-speed sensing camera was used to capture the weld pool images. Image algorithms such as median filtering, gray scale stretching, cutting, dynamic threshold mathematical morphology were applied to extract the weld pool image edge and analyze and detect the weld pool width. Welding experimental results showed that the proposed methods could extract the weld pool width, which could reflect the stability status of high-power fiber laser welding process accurately and help seam tracking.
