he Duncan—Chang elastic nonlinear constitutive model is used to carry out a 2-D finite element analysis for the concrete faced rockfill dam with deep overburden．The settlement deformation and stress of the dam is influenced by dam foundation，the characteristics of stress and deformation problem in the dam and dam foundation with deep overburden is analyzed,where by provide the theoretical reference to the design of the dam project。
