Numerical Simulation of Free Surface Flows by Using Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics Method with New Boundary Treatment

针对SPH方法模拟自由表面流动提出新的边界处理方法,自由表面根据密度的波动来捕捉,通过自由表面时空的变化单独计算固边界外围镜像粒子的密度,以保证固边界有干湿变化时能够正确模拟边界对流体的作用和自由表面的稳定。模拟了溃坝后水体流动,并和实验数据作了定量对比分析,结果表明新的边界处理方法效果良好。模拟了孤立波的生成与传播,进一步检验了新的边界处理方法的稳定性。

new approach of boundary treatment was developed to simulate the free surface flow by using SPH method. The free surface was captured by the fluctuation of densities of fluid particles. The densities of mirror particles were calculated according to the temporal and spatial changing of the free surface, ensuring the correct simulation both of interactions between the solid boundary and the fluid flow and the stabilization of the free surface when the transform of wet and dry solid boundary existed. The fluid flow due to dam breaking was simulated. Comparisons of numerical simulation results with experiments showed that the present boundary treatment was reasonable. Moreover, generation and transmission of solitary waves were modeled to validate the stabilization of the new boundary treatment approach.
