利用多媒体计算机培养大班英语学习者自主学习的能力

20世纪70、80年代以来,自主学习成为外语教学实践中的一个热点话题。越来越多的英语教师意识到培养学生自主学习的重要性,因为他们充分理解:是学习者本人决定最终的学习结果。然而面对大学扩大招生后多达六、七十人的英语大班,是否可以利用不断发展的多媒体计算机工具来代替现有的教学模式培养学生的自主学习能力?为了探讨这一做法的可行性,本文作者在一所普通的工程技术院校里进行了为期一年半的教学实践。通过分组教学,问卷调查,课堂观察和访谈的形式收集数据,并用社会统计学软件(SPSS)分析。分别在实验前后收集了高考英语成绩,大学英语四级考试成绩,比较不同组别的差异。最终证明利用多媒体计算机可以逐渐培养学生自主学习的能力。
Ever since 1970s or 80s, autonomic learning has become a hot subject of foreign language teaching practice. More and more English teachers realize the significance of developing learner autonomy, because they know that it is learners who decide the final result of learning. However facing the big class with more than 60 or 70 students since college enrollment enlarges steadily, can we promote learner autonomy by replacing the present teaching pattern with multimedia and computer developed day by day? To explore the possibility of this practice, the author made an experiment about learner autonomy in a technical university for one and a half year. By dividing the students into groups, doing questionnaire surveys and classroom observations, collecting and analyzing the data by SPSS, also by comparing the grades of the students in different groups on different examinations, the author thinks that we can foster learner autonomy by using multimedia and computer
