Network Selection in a Heterogonous System using CAC Estimation
本文研究了由分别基于CDMA和OFDMA技术的两种软容量系统所构成的异构无线网络中的分布式网络选择与准入控制相结合的问题。研究了在多模终端中利用系统广播信息中的资源分配信息来进行系统载荷估计的问题,提出了一种CDMA系统中的接收功率估计算法和一种OFDMA系统中的发送功率估计算法。基于系统载荷估计的结果,我们提出了一种基于功率门限的分布式准入预测机制和一种基于终端发送功率的分布式网络选择算法,利用分布式的准入预测来协助终端做出明智的网络选择决策。仿真实验的结果表明,在分布式的网络选择过程中引入系统载荷估计和准入预测机制,能够在满足用户业务需求的同时高效地利用异构无线网络中的无线资源,从而取得与采用集中式的准入预侧机制时相接近的网络吞吐量。
his paper presents the combination of distributed network selection and call admission control (CAC) in heterogeneous wireless network (HWN). The HWN is constituted with two soft capacity radio systems, which are CDMA based radio system and OFDMA based radio system. Based on system load estimation using resource allocation information included in system broadcasting message, we present a method of estimating receiving power of CDMA system and transmitting power of OFDMA system. Using the result of system load estimation, we present a distributed CAC estimation scheme based on power threshold and a distributed network selection scheme based on user transmitting power. With the association of CAC estimation, the distributed network selection scheme can give a better decision of network access. From the simulation results, we come to the conclusion: with the association of system load estimation and CAC estimation, distributed network selection can have high radio resource efficiency without affecting user’s application requirement and have high system throughput close to the centralized CAC scheme.
