In this paper, fluid/structure interaction is crucial for a variety of offshore structures, such as wave energy converters and the drilling platform, especially for the nonlinear interaction, therefore, in addition to the experimental and theoretical work, in recent years the use of accurate and effective numerical method of predicting the wave load has become an important trend. In this paper, the irrotational, invisid, incompressible potential flow theory together with the boundary element method isused to simulate free heaving movement of two-dimensional cylinder under the action of nonlinear stokes wave. The fully nonlinear boundary conditions are satisfied on the unknown free surface and movingbody surface. and the wave load is analyzed.
