远志药理研究进展

Radix Polygalae is a common Chinese medicinal herb which is widely used in clinical treatment, can benefit intelligence, relieve mentla strain, eliminate phlegm and tumescence, etc. Radix Polygalae has various pharmacological activities. At present, there is more pharmacological study on senegenin which has been considered to be active ingredient of the pharmaceuticals, but senegenin can’t all explain the plant activities in anti-ageing, anti-dementia, cerebral protection, acesodyne, anti-fungal, and so on. With the study development of Radix Polygalae，xanthones and oligosaccharide ester have been two important medicaments which cannot be ignored. Based on the active materials of Radix Polygalae, the pharmacological actions of Radix Polygalae are reviewed in the view of tenuigenin, glucide and its ramification, xanthones, extraction, untoward effect, and so on in this paper.
