Since ancient times, the Silk Road has been a prominent trade route for glassware. Excavated ancient glass artifacts not only reflect the aesthetics and craftsmanship of ancient people but also hold significant scientific value. These artifacts, buried underground for extended periods, undergo chemical changes due to environmental influences, a process known as weathering. This paper investigates the chemical composition of ancient glass artifacts and their weathering processes. The study categorizes glass artifacts based on types (like lead barium and high potassium) and color, revealing the trends in chemical composition changes during weathering. Using Gaussian distribution and contingency analysis, it successfully predicts the chemical composition of these artifacts before and after weathering, elucidating the impact of weathering on the chemical components of ancient relics. This research focuses on analyzing and identifying the chemical composition of ancient glass artifacts, providing a scientific basis for artifact preservation.
