Study on CaCl2 assisted oxidation of cellulose acetate by sodium periodate

高碘酸钠可以将纤维素进行选择性氧化,得到二醛纤维素。本文以CaCl2辅助高碘酸钠选择性氧化醋酸纤维素,并用红外光谱验证了氧化后醋酸纤维素的结构,同时研究了氧化剂质量浓度、氧化温度和氧化时间对氧化醋酸纤维素的醛基含量和失重率的影响。实验结果表明,在pH值为3.5的情况下,随着氧化剂质量浓度的增加,氧化温度的升高,氧化时间的延长,氧化醋酸纤维素的醛基含量先上升后下降,而失重率逐渐增大;在相同反应条件下CaCl2的加入能明显增加产物醛基的含量,有利于醋酸纤维素的氧化。通过实验得出优化的氧化条件:在CaCl2(14mmol/g)辅助氧化和pH值为3.5的情况下,氧化剂与纤维素质量比1:1,氧化温度为45℃,氧化时间为6 h。在此氧化条件下,氧化纤维素醛基含量为2.51mmol/g,失重率为13.2%。

ellulose can be selectively oxidized to dialdehyde cellulose by sodium periodate. This paper focused on CaCl2 assisted oxidation of cellulose acetate with sodium periodate, and the structure of the obtained dialdehyde cellulose acetate was confirmed by FTIR. Moreover, the effects of oxidant concentrations, oxidation temperatures and oxidation time on aldehyde contents and weight loss rates of dialdehyde cellulose acetate were thoroughly investigated, respectively. The results showed that in the case of pH value of 3.5, with the increase of oxidant concentrations, oxidation temperatures and oxidation time, the aldehyde contents of dialdehyde cellulose acetate increased firstly, then it decreased, while weight loss rates of dialdehyde cellulose acetate increased gradually. Most importantly, the introduction of CaCl2 can significantly increase the aldehyde contents of dialdehyde cellulose acetate at the same experiment conditions, which is beneficial to the oxidation of cellulose acetate.
