协同学认为一般系统存在支配结构状态发展的序变量,因而人工制品系统存在使其最终发展成为特定模式的关键变量,此变量支配着从功能到概念模型到最终组织结构的发育过程。另一方面,生物学胚胎学的研究指出引导生物胚胎发育的支配因素是细胞间相互作用,类似地,人工制品的组织结构可以由最初的功能子结构依据特性相互关系通过规则而导出,即特性相互关系支配了人工制品的组织结构的发展过程和组织形态。因此,特性相互关系是支配结构演变的序变量。引入序变量的意义在于考察功能与结构影射的关系,通过改变序变量寻求创新设计特别是创造性设计。文章给出小卫星结构系统的分析实例说明序变量的表述以及引入序变量的意义。

Synergetics tells us that there exists order parameter in general system, which controls the development of structural state. Therefore, there exists also order parameter for the development of artifact, which bridges functions and certain structural pattern. On the other hand, according to embryogenesis, the key factor of the development of embryo is the interaction of cells. Similarly, The structure of artifact can be deduced from functions based on certain induction rules under control of relationship property. That is to say, the relationship property controls the process of the development of embryo of artifact and determines its final structure. Therefore, the relationship property is the order parameter. By introducing order parameter, more accurate mapping between function and structure can be deduced. Innovative design and creative design can be produced only on condition that some parameter of order parameter be added or changed. The reminder of the paper first introduces the concept of synergetics and its mathematical description, secondly illustrates how to represent the order parameter by presenting the structural development of a small satellite. In the last two sections, the implication of order parameter for artifact is discussed and the paper is concluded with a brief summary.
