he coarsening behavior of alpha lamellae of Ti-17 alloy has been investigated during heat treatment at 800℃, 820℃, 840℃and 860℃. The results indicate that the thickness of alpha lamellae continued to increase with heat treatment time, and static coarsening behavior was more apparent at the higher temperature. But, the coarsening rate decreases with heat treatment time. The coarsening kinetics can be established in terms of LSW theory. The coarsening was more likely influenced by bulk diffusion at 800℃ and 820℃, by bulk diffusion and interface reaction at 840℃, and by interface reaction at 860℃. In addition, a mathematical model is developed to predict static coarsening rate. The results showed that the model can provide a relatively reliable prediction for static coarsening behavior of alpha lamellae when the interface energy γαβ=0.2J/m2.
