he selective laser melting is the most widely used in the industrial field among additive manufacturing technologies. Its emergence makes the direct manufacturing of complex parts possible, and promotes the transformation of additive manufacturing to practical manufacturing technology, which also has become the scientific research hotspots and important areas of commercial applications.Therefore, this paper summarizes the principles and technical characteristics of the selective laser melting technology, and analyzes its future development trends from both application and scientific research, so that researchers in related fields can quickly and comprehensively understand the development of this technology.
