赤道西太平洋晚第四纪元素地球化学高分辨率研究尝试

High resolution geochemistry study in the western Pacific ocean during the late Quaternary

本文通过对暖池核心区翁通-爪哇海台KX08-97321-2站柱状样上部6.3m岩芯沉积物进行分辨率高达5mm的X荧光光谱扫描(XRF Core Scanner),获得了岩芯沉积物中13-92号元素的相对含量,再从中选取Ba、Al、Ti、Fe等对环境演化具有指示性的元素进行探讨,为重建暖池区晚第四纪以来高分辨率的古环境演化历史提供了重要科学依据。本次研究作为赤道西太平洋晚第四纪元素地球化学高分辨率研究的尝试,有待与将来的氧碳稳定同位素、Mg/Ca比值恢复的表层海水古温度等古海洋学记录进行比较,可望为进一步探讨热带海洋在全球气候变化中的作用以及快速气候变化机制提供新的科学依据。

In this paper,Site KX08-97321-2 from the Ontong-Java Plateau was chosed to carry out the XRF Core Scanning with a high resolution of 5mm, and obtained the counts of elements from number 13 to 92 of the sediments. Particular elements such as Ba, Al, Ti, Fe, etc. were picked and analyzed to reconstruct the paleoenvironment of the WPWP during the late Quaternary. To study the paleo-environment evolution of the WPWP in late Quaternary, we still need oxygen and carbon stable isotopes, Mg/Ca ratio and other paleoceanographic records besides our element geochemistry proxies to give a more convincible conclusion. Our work in this study provides new scientific evidences for further research on the role of tropical ocean in global climate change and the mechanism of rapid climate change.
